“The Pain Down the Lane”
3rd December 2015
Well done to all involved with St.Mary’s GAC Rasharkin Fight Night – "The Pain Down the Lane” held last Saturday night at the Wild Duck Portglenone.

The night was hailed as a tremendous success in many ways, congratulations firstly to all twenty two boxers - Shane Hasson, Enda McFerran, Mabel Higgins, Leanne Hamilton, Conor Hardy, Emmett McFerran, Michael Hardy, Paul Hasson, Joe Carey, Kevin McMullan, Chris McKillop, Thomas McMullan, Tiernan Doherty, Donal McLernon, Dana Stockman, Julie McNeill, Brendan McMullan, Darren O’Boyle, Thomas Darragh, Liam Brennan, Cathal Mooney and Tony Quinn, these guys went through 10 demanding weeks of training and hard work leading up to Saturday night’s showdown. I think everyone would agree it was all well worth the sweat, blood and tears as the entertainment level was superb.

Thanks go to the boxer’s families and supporters and everyone all who took the time to attend. The Wild Duck management and staff deserve a mention for their hosting and service.

Mark Hasson, Brendan Etherson, Eamon McGarrell, Stephen Hardy and Kevin are to be acknowledged for their efforts and advise throughout the training programme

St.Mary’s GAC would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors who supported the boxers and to Bank of Ireland for sponsoring the fight of the night and the boxer of the night.

Terry Hasson conducted the show perfectly as compere, Joe Dalrymple and Brian Boyle are to be recognised for their expertise in videoing the previews and entrance, lighting and sound, respectively.

Once again, the club is indebted to our organising committee Thomas Doherty, Benny Hegarty, Natalie Hasson and Elaine Donaghy, they put in so much time and effort to the coordination and promotion of this event it’s no surprise it was a huge success.

Last, but certainly by no means least, our club Treasurer Thomas Donaghy deserves to be singled out for this commitment, management and dedication for his organisation and execution of this first class event and incredible fundraiser.
