St.Mary's Rasharkin at Ulster Intermediate 7's Tournament
16th July 2011
Derry club Orga Colmcille played host to the Finbarr McVey Ulster Intermediate 7's Tournament held on Saturday 16th July 2011. The Drumullan club sent out initiations to all Ulster Intermediate winners in 2010, St.Mary's Rasharkin having collected the Antrim County title gratefully accepted.

Rasharkin were selected to play in group B of the group stages along with Tyrone side Urney, North Derry side Foreglen and Fermanagh and All Ireland champions Lisnaskea who had entered two teams.

St.Mary's lost out in their first game to eventual runners up Urney 2-4 to 1-2; however they soon quickly recovered to dispose of Foreglen in their second game 5-3 to 3-3. Well in the groove for the third game Rasharkin went on a rout against Lisnaskea's seconds racking up six goals and five points to qualify for the semi final stages.

Urney went through as Group B winners to play Group A runners up Tullylish from County Down, whereas Rasharkin sent up the other semi against Lisnaskea first team. Urney progressed to the final beating the Down side by four points and Lisnaskea booked their place in the last two beating Rasharkin 5-11 to 3-8.

Lisnaskea Emmetts went on to lift the trophy beating Urney by a single point in a nail biting final.

Special thanks go to Orga Colmcille for organising and hosting this successful event, well done to the match referees, linesmen and umpires and to all the clubs who attended and made this an unique tournament.
